About this project
A party barn in College Station: a 40′ × 60′ main building with an 18′ eave height and a 20′ × 60′ lean-to running the full length of each side.
The detail that drives this building is the lean-to drop. Instead of a small step below the main roof, these lean-tos come down a full 3′-6″. That lower, longer roof plane is what puts usable shade on the slab underneath through the middle of the day, which is the whole point of a building people are going to stand around in.
The main roof runs a 3:13 pitch with 2′ overhangs, and the frame is our SR system. The lean-tos were left without soffit on this one.
